Recovery and considerations
You may have bruising and swelling at both the harvest and breast sites for a few weeks. Some of the transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed, so the final volume settles over three to six months. Risks include small areas of firmness (fat necrosis) and the possible need for a second session.

Frequently asked questions
How much bigger can I go with fat transfer?
Fat transfer gives a modest increase, typically up to around one cup size per session. For a larger increase, implants may be more suitable. Outcomes vary between patients.
Does all the fat survive?
Not all transferred fat survives. A proportion is naturally reabsorbed in the first few months, which is why more than one session is sometimes needed.
Where is the fat taken from?
Fat is harvested by liposuction from areas such as the tummy, flanks or thighs, which can give a subtle contouring benefit there too.
Is it more natural than implants?
Because it uses your own tissue, fat transfer can feel very natural. It avoids implant-related risks, but provides a smaller, less predictable volume increase.
