- Nipple correction is a small, precise procedure to change the shape or position of the nipple — most commonly to bring out an inverted nipple, or to reduce a prominent or enlarged one. It is usually performed under local anaesthetic with a quick recovery.

What does nipple correction involve?
For inverted nipples, the tethered tissue beneath the nipple is released so it sits outward. For prominent or enlarged nipples, a small amount of tissue is reshaped. It is usually a short procedure under local anaesthetic.
Should an inverted nipple be checked first?
Yes. A nipple that becomes newly inverted in adulthood should be assessed to exclude an underlying cause before any cosmetic correction. Mr Ghosh will examine and, if needed, arrange imaging.
Will it affect breastfeeding?
Some techniques divide the milk ducts, which can affect breastfeeding. If future breastfeeding is important to you, tell Mr Ghosh so a duct-preserving approach can be considered.
How long is recovery?
Recovery is quick. You can usually return to normal activities within a few days, avoiding pressure on the area while it heals.
